These terms govern your use of the CHANGELOG website (changelog.systems) and the CHANGELOG app (app.changelog.systems), operated by CHANGELOG ("we", "us"). By using the site or the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

1. What CHANGELOG is

CHANGELOG is a field-to-office logging tool. The individual tier is free and local-first: your log entries are created and stored on your own device, and you can export them as plain text at any time. The app is currently in open beta.

2. Accounts

No account is required to use the individual tier. If we introduce accounts for team or enterprise plans, additional terms may apply and will be presented before you sign up.

3. Your content and your data

  • You own your log entries. We claim no rights over anything you write in CHANGELOG.
  • On the individual tier, entries live on your device. They are not transmitted to us.
  • You are responsible for backing up your data, for example with the built-in export. Beta software can lose data; export regularly.

4. Acceptable use

Use the site and the app lawfully. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, probe or breach its security, or use it to store or transmit unlawful material. Do not misrepresent your affiliation with us.

5. Paid plans and trials

The Team plan is offered at $8 per user per month, or $80 per user per year, with a 14-day free trial that does not require a card. Enterprise pricing is custom. Prices may change; existing subscribers will be notified before a change affects them. The individual tier is free and is not the thing we take away. 6. Beta disclaimer

CHANGELOG is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied. It is beta software: features may change, break, or be removed, and availability is not guaranteed.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site or the app, including lost data or lost profits. [[TBD: legal review, liability cap and carve-outs]]

8. Termination

You can stop using CHANGELOG at any time; your local data stays with you. We may suspend or end access to the hosted services for breach of these terms or to protect the service.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product grows. The "last updated" date above will change when we do, and material changes will be flagged on this page.
